Dear INFPs,
As an INTP, talking to you is like looking in a mirror. A mirror that is just slightly distorted because we’re not the same people… but we’re close! You have those same thought pathways through Ne that may not make sense to everyone right in the moment, because you’re driving through winding roads in the woods with a blindfold on and both feet on the gas, but you always come to your conclusion one way or another. And I usually don’t have a hard time following along! Usually, I’m in my own separate car along-side you, doing the same things, and we arrive at the conclusion together!
Are you understanding these metaphors? Probably.
And I’m not alone when I forget to do something simple like put my empty glasses of water in the sink and wash them instead of hoarding them all in my room, because i just keep getting new glasses of water because i get thirsty again.
Although, if we were trusted to handle something too pragmatic, we might be in trouble. We should keep an eye out for that.
Point is that while we can be really in-sync on these wonderful ways of perceiving life (ha!), your reasons for doing things because they’re “important to you” can often slip my mind. Because mostly I’m thinking about what makes sense. But your reasons are thought provoking and give me new things to think about. New things to try to remember when I make my own decisions, because I might find a way to add a warmer touch to my actions.
You’re there to remind me of the argument that is:
“Just because we can, does not mean we should”
You’re basically the reason that Jurassic Park doesn’t happen in real life. Although honestly, they keep making movies, so are we really learning anything?
Plus, I mean, real dinosaurs would be so frickin cool. Yeah, see, you need to stop this before it gets to be too much.
We’re all very lucky to have you. Otherwise we’d all be eaten by dinosaurs…
Maybe that’s not a direct logical connection, but… you never know…
I’m glad to have you around, INFP.
Much love from your “cousin type”,
Isaac, an INTP that would really like to know the statistical prospects of reviving the dinosaurs
